Instagram AMA S6 Ep 6 AI Content Creation Drawbacks

In todays video I look at:

"your thoughts on AI in your content"

AI is renowned for getting things wrong. Like all the time. You can’t trust it completely... which means the second you use fully AI gen images you flag to your followers that you are probably using it elsewhere, which like it or not will have them questioning IF THEY can TRUST YOU

-if i see an image which is obviously AI  it tells me that the person was lazy in getting it generated instead of creating or looking for their own image that they could use attribution to.  Honestly, you can re-use images, and if you don't have bandwidth to create new ones I think you should. Showing that you don't care enough to create your own image or don't respect image makers enough to pay for them is a serious turn off.

-it tells me that they use AI elsewhere ... which makes me not trust them.  Think about it this way.  How often do you find that AI gets it wrong? you ask a question, and it comes back with something patently incorrect. There are businesses out there at the moment which are creating thousands of bog posts using the tech which rank highly in SEO and are being shown to you as the first or second option when you do a search, where the content isn't even being checked.  The classic example of this is me searching for if rats eat flowers, and the number one blog post that came back was from some business that sold seeds telling me that yes, they do, and these are the sorts of flowers you can grow to ATTRACT RATS! ffs.  I mean, really?  At this point the whole thing is beyond a joke,

So yeah, I don't trust anything obviously AI and you shouldn't either.

Oh and another thing.  Has anyone using AI imagery ever stopped to ask themselves if it is actually "on brand" to do so?

Like, what would your ideal customers think, if they know you were using robots to make pictures and videos for them?

If your creative thing is fundamentally about real things like nature, nurturing, food, seeds, animals, plants, pottery, craft, all the things I know Quiet Creatives turn to, then the people who are your audience will no doubt value the authenticity that comes with those subject matters.  Which is demanded from them in fact.

By using AI generated images you will turn them off faster than I don't know... you fill in the blanks.
